Richard Dear

Richard is a chartered accountant and company director with a range of business interests. His expertise includes financial management, strategic planning and governance. Professional memberships include the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Institute of Directors and Chartered Secretaries NZ.
Richard’s first career was in teaching and he has maintained a life long interest in education. He is currently chair of the Christchurch South Intermediate Board of Trustees.



Lane Boyd

Position: Staff Elected Member, Member of the Assurance Committee.



Shane Dye

Shane is currently a Senior Lecturer in Management Science at the University of Canterbury. His expertise includes problem solving in business, and mathematical modelling for decision making under uncertainty. He has a strong professional and personal interest in education and student learning. Shane's professional membership includes the Operational Research Society of New Zealand.
Position: Member, Member of the Assurance Committee.



Ross Hastings

Ross is the Christchurch South Intermediate School Principal. His first association with the school was in 1989 as a classroom teacher in Room 13! He was a senior teacher and then Deputy Principal at the school prior to winning the position of Principal in 2005. Before completing an Arts degree and training as a teacher, Ross worked as a Bank Officer with the National Bank. He is a keen follower of most sports and an active social cricketer in the summer. His modest musical abilities extend to playing the guitar and drums. Ross is thoroughly committed to the school and to the education of the students. As the school's leader, he has an obvious and significant role to play as a board member.

Craig Slight

Despite having a Bachelor of Agriculture Degree from Massey, Craig has spent most of his working life in logistics and for the last 5 years has been working part time as his main job has been being a fulltime solo father to his two children Lachlan (Year 7) and Maggie (Year 6).



Stephanie White

Stephanie is a trained teacher who spent most of her teaching career in the Intermediate school area. She now works as a pre-service teacher educator at the University of Canterbury’s College of Education preparing a new breed of primary teachers for our schools. She spends a lot of time visiting student teachers while they are in schools on professional teaching practice, so is able to keep a current perspective on what is happening in schools in Canterbury.
Position: Member,  Appraisal Committee and Appointments Sub-Committee.
